I would be curious to find out whether there are any publicly-funded independently-investigated epidemiological studies of the drug trade, particularly in terms of tracking distribution networks, supply chain vectors, and ultimately tracing back samples to their sources. The DEA must do work like this, I would wager a guess. How strong are they as an organization since Homeland Security came into sharper focus?
