BIG ELK - “Thank You For Giving Me My Dreams Back” [Lyrics]

I.

The sound of your voice leads me home dear
After many dark years on the road
The forests all whispered your praises
When I was so cold and alone.

I cried when I first met you
Been laughin ever since dear
I know I’ll never have my fill of you
So please let me never be without.

REFRAIN

So thank you for givin me my dreams back
I lost them so long ago
So thank you for givin me my dreams back
Let’s plant them in the ground and watch them grow

II.

Do not fall in love with my music
Don’t you look into my eyes
Drink not from this deep well dear
These words contain only lies

They can only mask or hide dear
The endless boundless joy you’ve given me.
Love comes to us and not from us
We can only weep at its feet.

(Refrain)

BRIDGE

You’ve given me Seven Gifts of Joy, dear
One, the smell of your hair and neck
Two, the soft pools of your moonlit eyes, love
Three, your voice upon my skin
Four, the mellow mood you always put me in
Five, how people look at us and know
Six, the way our hands fit together
Seven, the years to come - let’s take them slow.

(Refrain)

  I’m yours with no hesitation
Let’s rise up and face the morning sun…

sorry julia, it wasn`t my intention to ridicule the plight of poor haitians……

it is staggering the sheer volume of food aid that leaves our shores each day only to fall into the hands of dictatorships such as that in haiti and other small nation-states run by thugs.

and to compound things there are those who will blame american foriegn policy for thier situation.

I know. I didn’t mean to imply that you were, I was trying to be brief for a change. I had to stop laughing at your post before I could find the link to the Haitian story. It’s still funny too.
