Big Elk - “They Laughed At Me Until I Shot ‘Em” [Lyrics]
VERSE [Am - C (x2), F - C, Em - Am]
1.
They called me names my whole life long.
Treated me like I was their pawn
Threw all my things out on the lawn.
Now mama’s sick and daddy’s gone.
I don’t mind doin time
Though this may be the end of the line.
I can’t get no damned respect,
But this won’t be so easy to forget.
CHORUS [G - D - Am - C - Em]
They laughed at me until I shot ‘em.
Now I will not be forgotten.
I’ll find my place in history.
Get back at them for what they did to me.
2.
They thought they were better than me
But on their knees they sure did plead.
I just smiled soft and sweet
And put a bullet in their teeth.
I watched them die with no regrets.
Cause that’s what bad people get
For treatin’ me like I was their pet -
They get to kiss the face of Death.
(Chorus)
3.
If you don’t understand,
Brother, I can give you a hand.
Walk a mile in my shoes
You’ll see just what I been through.
They say only God can judge
But what’s wrong with a little nudge?
Cause if God missed a spot,
Shouldn’t someone clean it up?
(Chorus)

[Inspired loosely by this post about school shootings… *with a title stolen from this song.]

Good one! If you’re broke and you want to offer a prize in a contest you could also offer a few hours of time donated to a charity of the winners choice. A gift certificate of this sort for an individual is also a good gift for a new mom or somebody who takes care of an ill or elderly relative.
