Jason Dove & Tim Boucher In Chapel Hill, NC This Weekend
My good friend Jason Dove and I (who I am a tireless promoter of) are driving down to Chapel Hill, NC this weekend for a solo show Jason is doing. I figured I would go along for the rambling as myself, even though Big Elk isn’t going to be part of the performance.
Jason is playing at some place called “The Metal Shop” on Friday night with a band called Butterflies and another band called The International Grapevine. I’m not sure when it starts or how much it costs (or really even where it is), but if you live in that area and want to see some cool music, stop on by. Or, if you hate music and want to just come out and meet up with myself and a hilarious friend of mine, please drop me an email through ye olde contact form (here is what I look like, but these are more recent). We also might be willing to entertain offers of floors/couches to crash on. Let us know, and hopefully Jason and I will continue this tradition over the summer and extend our reach farther as we travel the country. Then we will crash on all of your couches!!! Muah ha ha! That’s the plan anyway!

[…] Got back from my trip with Jason Dove into the Southland yesterday afternoon. We didn’t sleep except for about an hour in the car outside of Johnny’s (formerly Johnny’s Sporting Goods - and they also used to have Klan rallies there??), the venue Jason played at. The trip was an absolute hoot, though short. Everybody at the venue was super awesome and really friendly. Carrboro/Chapel Hill is a beautiful place, lots of nice pine trees and the rain reminded me of the Northwest. The music was phenomenal. Both the other bands, the International Grapevine and Butterflies were F-ing unbelievably good and rocked the house down (also met a dude from The Physics of Meaning, who was headed down to SXSW, which I wish I were headed to). There was also a really great taco truck outside of the show venue that I had these amazing enchiladas with mole from. (Butterflies are also playing in NYC pretty soon, so check them out 100% - fantastic lyrics) […]
