Musician, Hear Thyself!
One of the weirdest things I have been under-going as I have transitioned back into playing music, and have finally started singing is that it is tremendously odd to have to “learn how to hear yourself.” I’ve been struggling to find a way to put it into words and into some kind of greater life context, but maybe it doesn’t need either.

Try putting an earplug in just one ear. Makes the inside of yo head like an vocal booth.

Actually, that may be why you often see singers covering their ear with a finger, like on American Idol - I’ve always hated when I see singers doing that, but it makes sense.
