Song-Writing Software?
I was thinking earlier, that it would be nice to have a piece of software to help in simple song-writing chores. I basically just want it to be able to play acoustic-sounding chords that I select in simple patterns that repeat according to time signatures and rhythms. Is there anything like that out there which somebody has used and can recommend that isn’t going to bloat out my new computer with a bunch of bullshit and features I don’t need? Hell, something like this should be so simple that you could build a Flash or online application of it even, though I want one I can use on my desktop (Vista).
{TOS: If you’re financially connected to software you are recommending, you’re required to disclose that connection. Thanks!}

The guitarists in my old band used to tab out all their music on PowerTab. It’s pretty powerful, and you can also download PT files of other people’s music to see the music in front of your eyes as it’s being played. Guitar Pro is a similar program, but nowadays you gotta pay for it.
