Fleur De Lis

Been puzzling over what the FDL is all about ever since my moonlit trip down to Ocean City, since our vehicle was covered with them, and then I spotted one at another friend’s house. I always knew it was connected to the lily, and worked with my brother once on a stained glass window of the Resurrected Christ, with lilies growing at his feet. But I feel like I only just really “got” it on some symbolic gut level when I saw that last image above. The interpretation I’m coming away from this realization - whatever it is - with has to do with the lily versus the rose. The rose is the crown of thorns, the Passion & Death of Christ, while the lily is new life coming back as the springtime god of rejuvenating circular whatever…

“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow…”

I love their fragrance. When you walk into a room where those big white or pink lilies are, the smell just fills the room.
