Is Your Computer Staring At You?

My new laptop has one of those built in video cameras, which becomes such a fixture in your peripheral vision that you quickly forget it’s even there. What’s more, I can’t seem to find the correct combination of drivers and software to allow ME to control that camera. So I did the next best thing: covered that sucker up with a piece of black electrical tape. How long before you won’t be able to do that though: assert control over technology you’re supposed to own?

    I guess I’m a day late and a dollar short on the subject of net neutrality but these guys say the internet is going to end soon and be broken up like cable TV. You’ll lose your income and people will have to know what they’re looking for before they can find it. Boo, hoo, hoo! Woe is me! Ooooo why!
