My Hope For The Future of Computing

Is that someday we will build a system which incorporates and encourages all possible systems, methods, styles, design, schools, modalities and aesthetics of experience and use of said system.

Isn’t this what we already have with “reality”, if we could only figure out how to use it properly? Or more precisely, what we have in interconnection between our “separate self” and “reality”?

I don’t think most people have this experience of reality. If we do have it as reality itself though, then what’s the proper role of what we now call computing?

I’ve said it before, here, and I’ll say it again.

I believe the internet (and computers in general) can be seen as training wheels for the self. That is, computing as we have it now might be used as a way to teach people a more proper way of handling information, so as to lead to the experiencing of reality as a “system which incorporates and encourages all possible systems, methods, styles.. etc”.

It’s like a high speed mirror reflecting our own reality back at us, helping us to understand it better, in less time than ever before… assembly line enlightenment… spiritual cybernetics…

From the Wikipedia definition for cybernetics:
Cybernetics is always and only involved when the system under scrutiny is involved in a closed loop, where action by the system in an environment causes some change in the environment AND that change is manifest to the system via information/feedback that causes changes in the way the system then behaves, and all this in service of a goal or goals. This “circular causal” relationship is necessary and sufficient for a cybernetic perspective.

By the way, did you happen to see this? It’s not RFID chips, but pretty close.

As above, so below… Bottom up reality engineering?

Things from along the nanotech spectrum.

The mention of qubits in that last link brings to min RAW’s maybe logic. Granted, RAW got that idea from these exact principles, but a computer language built on a foundation of fuzzy logic that can “simulat(e) … an exact prediction of how a system will behave in nature” sounds exciting…
