Another phrase I’ve been saving forever to write about. The basic point of what I had in mind whenever I made this up had to do with how when you go looking for something, you have to first track down the people who know about it and then find the right way to talk to them about it and then make actionable use of what they tell you. Retrieving information then becomes a community experience because knowledge is embedded in diverse nodes, and you always learn information within the context of actual humans, relationships and community - instead of in this isolated “random” content chunks floating by in a sea of information.
Seeing something like informational agents, librarians of living information, performance web searching live in front of a studio audience who can vote you off the island with their own electronic keypads.
