Glad the Mithra thing put it into the right direction... If I still had a vocation for conspiracy poetics, I'd go on and on about the numbers 32 and 33 behind that there statue. Instead I'll just smile and go, doot-dee-doot-doot! Emoticons seem to be a return to that, though in a more cutesy, less "deep" way. The end of literacy may simply be the end of abstract symbolic language in exchange for concrete symbolic language.
