Been thinking and writing a lot lately on how computer/electronics metaphors are seeping into and impacting other areas of life - in particular social organization on both a micro and mass level. It occurs to me that the ubiquity of the internet will have a marked effect over time: I think rearranging our concepts of what a nation is altogether so that it resembles something more akin to network topology, with flows of information and linking of resources becoming more of a defining factor than simple geographic divisions.
