Godfather Part I & II Playing At The Senator

Last night I ended up at CAMM-Slam, a 48-hr film phestival put on annually by the Creative Alliance, a cool non-profit arts thingamob with lots of events and whatnot. Nine production teams competed for audience and jury awards, each having to utilize a stock prop: the fake lotto ticket. Each team was free to invent whatever plotline or use required around the lotto ticket prop. And they had 48-hrs to write, shoot and edit it. I was sort of into the idea on account of it being a lot like the historical playwrighting they would do in Ancient Greece; I’ve been reading a lot on theatrical history these days, as a supplement to the scenic carpentry I’ve been doing for a theatre here in town. A friend of mine got involved as an actor for a Baltimore production company called Red Star KGB, and I tagged along for a bit to see them do what they do. They’ve done the Dove Diaries, comic shorts available on YouTube that my former roomate has been putting together (I appear in a couple episodes). Their entry into the event didn’t take any prizes, but their production quality was awesome with lots of cool shots, lighting, makeup and effects. This dude Grasshopper took the cake - rightfully so - for the evening, sweeping 3 out of 4 possible awards with an amazing ‘retro’ hip hop short called Broke’> I learned how to replace my guitar nut myself yesterday, and restrung my acoustic with some Elixirs, which sound and feel good and will turn into great when they get settled, I think. Had to remove some strings a couple times to give it a more rounded across the fretboard topline where your fingers rest across. Will probably adjust it tomorrow some as well, once the strings get a chance to strextch their legs. Looking forward to having things squared away and settled in at my new place so I can get some serious work done.

This is a really good video, song & performance. Look for the Jungian old man character, the mana personality, which crept into and subtly guided the public subconscious many times through frequent reappearances in grunge rock music videos of the nineteen nineties.
