A web/reference point navigational browser which operates like the artistic text clouds the website Wordle.net creates out of text you enter into a field.
What I’m thinking is something like this: the software allows me to enter in input streams, which could be anything - any kind of signal that modulates over time. A webcam feed. A market feed. RSS and Twitter feeds from my friends. And it would look and feel more relaxed and open, less boxed in than current web browsers. You would see this sort of hazy cloud of words appear. And out of it, shapes would form, like bubbles in some Shakespearean witch’s cauldron. Patterns and shapes. Sets of meaning. Self-organizing emergent information compiling directly out of customizable filters made up of sources of my choosing.
As this field modulated, I would be able to press inward into whatever semantic meaning packet I encountered. It would open up from a pair of keywords into a set of four or five related keywords. If something struck my fancy, or meant something to me, I could open up that node further (with a hand input device like a theramin or the old Nintendo U-Force). Each node being kind of like a highly-compressed sort of proto-symbolic/semantic hyper-digested, automarked and cross-referenced web memebot viral extractor end product.
Palmer: … [Even before the Internet] we needed to be able to tell a story that could exist in fragments, and no matter which fragments people saw and in what order they assembled them together in their head, it still added up to the same message. Now that’s happening with content, too…
Eventually, if you push on through “to the other side” of this digesto-compressified infomodule, you’be able to open up conventional web resources with more info, resources, data and metadata: blogs, regular web domains, streaming media, custom corporate interface (YouTube) or diplomerchantinterface.
Sorry to be using all the crazy made up words. I’m just trying to speak between existing meanings, concepts and associations, so as to fuse together reference point streams in novel ways. Hopefully all this nonsense will inspire someone who reads this on down the line!

[...] Tumblr page links to Twitter page links back to previous post on this domain (about confusing #computer #future stuff). Maybe not that confusing, but then, I’m not yet certain what I’m trying to say with all of this… But rest assured that I spent the last 45 minutes exploring strange in-between sonic environments in search of some universal language or means of expression between God’s many little creatures. Universal feedback and input loops from animals and plants communicating directly in languages we as humans understand and of which we can appreciate the aesthetic beauty, and then make positive choices to improve the condition of all beings in perceivable existence. The point of all this, is that we’re being challenged to open our minds to new signals, frequencies and patterns. Get used to it. Get good at it. Learn to swim like an angel and breath like a fish.
