Can’t delete Twitter? Should have known…

Figured I would just try it out for the Holidays, and wouldn’t you know, an alert box pops up saying, essentially, [ACTION FORBIDDEN].

If you sign into settings, scroll down to bottom of account page, and in the lowest left corner is a “delete my account” text link which says - at least right now for me - “Twitter is stressing out a bit right now, so this feature is temporarily disabled.”

Would like to see this resolved. Not sure how that happens…

It’s also impossible to search for other Twitter-ers. For a while it was returning an error message; now it seems like the option is just gone.

[...] Since you can’t delete your Twitter account, I have decided to release mine into the wilds of cyberspace. This means I have publicly announced the password, so whoever comes along may claim it as their own. The email address in the profile also reflects a “disposable” email address, which can also be used as need be. I will not be checking it though, so do not attempt to contact me there.
