Black Dragon Dream

DREAM DESCRIPTION

Happened two or three mornings ago…

I am helping a bunch of hungry people find food. We have to cross a large river. Once they’ve crossed the river, a gigantic plume of smoke rises up from the side they’re now on, and an enormous black missile or rocket arises out of the earth, very slowly - almost as though it were a living entity. The people are calling it “the black dragon.” From somewhere, several commercial planes appear, and shepherd the missile’s flight path harmlessly off into outer space. The perspective shifts and I am viewing an almost diagrammatic scene of outer space, which is multi-dimensional in nature. Many earth orbs are transposed slightly offset from one another… at least six or eight.

Two other dreams later that morning about being on the run, traversing suburban backyards to avoid the police.

    Black dragons (a.k.a. “Skull Dragons”) are the most vile tempered and cruel of all chromatic dragons. Physically, black dragons are most distinguished by their horns, which protrude from the sides of their heads and wrap around, projecting forward. A large frill adorns the upper part of the neck. They smell like rotting vegetation and foul water, or like the powerful acid they can breathe.

    [...] A black dragon typically lairs in a large cave or underground chamber next to a swamp or murky pond. Their lairs always have two entrances: one underwater through the adjacent swamp/pond, and one above-ground, disguised amidst the undergrowth.

    In combat, black dragons prefer ambushes to straightforward fighting. They are vicious and ruthless adversaries, and their acidic bile can work its way under the heaviest armor with ease. Their only disadvantage is that their heavily wooded habitats tend to prevent them from flying very high in combat.
