“In Iraqi culture, throwing shoes at someone is a sign of contempt. Iraqis whacked a statue of Saddam Hussein with their shoes after U.S. marines toppled it to the ground [at a stage-managed press event] after the 2003 invasion.”

    [at a stage-managed press event]

Granted, anything is possible when people are wearing shoes they can take off and perhaps, throw. But something sorta smacks of managedness here as well. The dude’s aim was perfect — therefore shows he was not nervous about the ramifications of throwing a shoe at “The Most Powerful Man In The World”. He either “self-coached” himself to keep his aim true (i.e. just naturally brave enough to do such a thing), or it was a novel event staged by “central casting” to effect something or another. I’m sure the synchromystic people will have an analysis soon. The skeptic in me says, if they can stage the toppling of “Saddam’s Statue” and if they can get what people like to call “the puppet” Maliki to stand next to Bush in such a way to lend credibility to both “leaders” — they can certainly stage a next to comical shoe throwing event on such a day when the men of America throw around the “pigskin”. Right?

It’s apparently a deep and abiding insult to throw a shoe at a man and call him a “dog” in Islamic culture. But why on a Sunday? Why a shoe on pigskin day?

AND HOLY FUCKING SHIT! 3rd hit on google when searching for simply “pigs and islam”:

It opens the door to shoes getting thrown at Obama say. It goes viral — as it already is. Having a viral video of a sitting US president having shoes thrown at him, somehow smacks of pure mindfuckery gold. It’s the precedent. Something about it. Definitely something about it. And I honestly don’t like it. . .
