“Recently, I’ve been toying with the idea of interviewing computer programmers about metaphor and poetics. It’s not unusual for people to talk about the beauty of code, how elegant a particular routine is, etc. Clearly, people relate to the languages they ’speak’ and write in different ways, but are there patterns of style and evocation in programming languages?
