The Chicago Bulls were on they’re super winning streak in the 90’s, two three-peats in the decade. I worked the 4p-12a shift near the Chicago Stadium/United Center, where they play, and I enjoyed the festive, carnival like atmosphere around the area whenever they played even though I was at work. Everybody was happy and energized even though/because they had paid a fortune for the tickets.

After the last championship they crashed and burned, all the good players left and they were a pathetic team. I went to pick lunch at a restaurant on Madison st., the main route to the United Center, and I noticed something invisible and intelligent hovering over an intersection. I got the impression of living energy looking for a host. Not finding people prepared to receive this energy I noticed it’s disappointment and I noticed it leaving. I doubt it ever came back or, if it came back it wasn’t as strong.

When I thought about it I realized that energy had always congregated before, during and slightly after the games. Prior to the redevelopment of the area it had been too dangerous to go outdoors in that area at night. I had always viewed that energy as a sign of progress.

My best description of this was the comet like blue thing in this old Doritos commercial. I was always captivated by this commercial when it originally ran.

Now, I’ve read a couple of things describing ribbon/snake like things in a very negative context but I can’t find the links. Basically along the lines of festivals being used to absorb your energy (maybe Delooze?)and people dealing with something like this in spritual warfare.

I can’t really put my finger on why being happy and energized could be bad but your post got me thinking along these lines and I’m pretty sure I’ll find the answer some day.

I remember reading about a dog that was lured to a ditch by a floating ball of light. He was play fighting with it and was at a crossroads between having fun and defending his family. After he was away from the family the ball of light killed him. Balls of light are actually harbingers of death in some Slavic cultures.

Clearly people were highly materalistic during those years and those people were hoping to intensify their already slightly warped state. I know materialism is not exactly berserker warfare but after the world wide economic collapse a lot of people will die/die early because of it.

I don’t know really what the proper attitude is to have toward it. But IMO using it to conquer Iraq is the type of thing you would use Odin energy for.

I see this energy as reveling in conquest and destruction. Raping pillaging, burning villages, etc.

I believe I had a past life as a berserker and also a Norman Bishop. I got kind of addicted to this emotional energy. Recounting these types of experiences over and over again, revving up all these chemicals in my body associated with this stuff.

This energy involves orgiastic surrendering to destructive impulses and then using wisdom to rebuild conquered territory in an Imperialistic way.

So imo that is the kind of energy this is. I am wondering if some Eastern traditions like Zen might express warrior energy in a more holistic positive way.
