BUMPER STICKER: Earth is my OS.

Notes from a few whirlwind days of traveling with friends, family and perfect strangers.

Managed to get myself up and down the mid-Atlantic states for the holidays, up to New York in a bit of an inverted coat-hanger shape (geographically speaking) with the hook elongated at the bottom. Mixed it up with two excellent Craigslist rideshare companions, one on each direction of the long leg of the trip, both interesting laid back people and great conversationalists. Counts for a lot on a long car ride like that, having somebody to talk to.

Caught a constellation of connecting trains in and around New York City, recalled that dancing scene in Grand Central Terminal from The Fisher King. Everything so coordinated and perfect…

Riding my bike back up past the art museum from the pub tonight. Getting back into the groove of things. A good solid block of fried cheese, bacon and potatoey goodness. Nothing holding me back. Balances restored. Locks opened, negative situations inverted and corrected. Makes me think that Beauty™ has something to do with balance of parts. Not necessarily symmetry. But a state of creative tension, which creates a nice transvigoracious dynamic: where everything is in perfect flow, in constant flux. Traveling without moving, that album calls it. That guy dancing in that room. Sometimes on the ceiling.

  1. EARTH OS. Latest keylang update pack to the Mandala/Kaleidoscope[U+00AE] Human Wisdom Systems™ portable framework.
  2. BRIDGER’S LAW. Trying to come up with a cool meaning for this term; something that will stick in the public consciousness.
  3. EDITOR. Was musing on my ride back down to Baltimore-town, while watching the passing clouds about finding an editor for my work. Less than thirty minutes later, a car passes me by with the vanity plate “EDITOR”. I should have emailed them. That’s why I need a gun that shoots files. This person could had an info pack stuck to their car when they got back into their home internet zone.
  4. BUSINESS GIFT CARDS. Thought of this one while hanging out with two other guys named Tim (which I don’t recommend: the universe did partially fold that night - Yule)… business cards which are actually five dollar redeemable cash cards you can use at any shop which accepts such technology. It could have a picture of me on it, handing a person a bag of money. This would be a good way to get people to remember you. Five dollars seems like a good amount for a bribe of this nature. Anyone know a company I can get to print custom magnetic complementary cashless gift cards? Would be cool if there was some way for me to “award” these things to readers of my site who send me good links or content.
  5. BUTCHER’S DOZEN. A project title I thought of to court potential editors to my site. Get twelve different people to select twelve top essays or excerpts from my articles. Publish them through a site like Cafepress as either one work or as twelve works, give all the money to the editors (since all my work is in the Public Domain) and then help promote everybody’s projects from my site. My hope is work with a bunch of different artists/collaborators/editors to explore multidimensional views of the complex subject matter and interesting conversations we’ve had here on this site over the years. Make it so that everybody benefits off it financially, and I benefit from the press, exposure and creative partnerships. Email me if you’re interested.
  6. DISTANCE LAPTOP REIKI. Ten dollars via PayPal. Email me a photo of the computer which needs healing, field balancing or spiritual mojo-charging, and I will transmit via my hands spiritual healing magic through the wonders of the psychic internet.
  7. KEYWORDGENETICS I’m going to start using this as a project name for the call-in keyword weather reports I’ve been doing for Hollow Earth Radio. I’m not going to buy the .com, but last time I looked it was available. So, if you feel like getting some free publicity via an interesting and probably ephemeral project, go ahead and buy up the domain name and let’s work together to distort semiotic spaces and subvert the meaning of existing languages and phrases. An open relationship of advertising and creativity.
  8. OMNIVATE.net Another domain name I want but don’t have money for. Was thinking we could offer Omnivative Frequency Coordination Strategies, Transvigorative Services, and other types of jargon-y neologisms to confuse and confound internet entrepeneurs.
  9. LEFTOVER KEYWORDS. From my whiteboard:

    MUSICAL
    INSTROUMENOMENA
    BARDIC
    INTERFACE
    RITUAL

    MANIPULATION

  10. A quote I liked from a new reader/co-conspirator: “A frequent device in adverts is association; the pairing of separate concepts or ‘experiences’ to create a perceptible link between the two. Why is this so common? Why is this better than simply revealing the product and singing its praises?”

And speaking of the Odin Engine instantiation, and va+hood, a term that came to me in a dream I just posted about on Twitter, I passed twice through a town called Valhalla on the Harlem Metro-North MTA Line in and out of Westchester NY.

heavenly hall in which Odin receives the souls of heroes slain in battle, 1768, from O.N. Valhöll “hall of the battle-slain;” first element from valr “those slain in battle,” from P.Gmc. *walaz (cf. O.E. wæl “slaughter, bodies of the slain,” O.H.G. wal “battlefield, slaughter”), from PIE base *wele- “to strike, wound” (cf. Avestan vareta- “seized, prisoner,” L. veles “ghosts of the dead,” O.Ir. fuil “blood,” Welsh gwel “wound”). Second element is from höll “hall,” from PIE base *kel- “to conceal” (see cell). Reintroduced by 18c. antiquaries. Figurative sense is from 1845.

I have a couple questions on some of the postings / statements above…

Where you mention the Butcher’s Dozen…
What wereyou thinking of those dozen coming together to do ??

and in Number 9 - the list of leftover keywords…
Where did you come up with those keywords… ??
Were they from a search you did somewhere…
How did they make it to your list — were they high paying PPC type
    keywords — from somewhere ??

Hope you had an Enjoyable Weekend…

What are your plans for New Years Eve / New Years Day…
    (I know… I am a nosey girl….LOL)

    Tim,

I find myself wanting to thank you for simply existing, for having been created by the good graces of the Universe. I suppose that that wouldn’t be giving credit where it is due. Not really sure who that honor goes to, so I’ll just say a thank you to Creation; to Right Thought and Right Intent and Right Action; to the Natural Processes that have given rise you and I and every other person in the world the Universe the Cosmos.

I can’t remember how I found your blog anymore, but I am thankful that I did. Having been born the son of a computer scientist at the beginning of the age of transistors and nanotechnology, my link with computers, technology, and the Internet is unusually strong. I feel strongly that we intersected at a specific time and place for many different reasons [or none at all; sorry, a bit of Existential uncertainty creeping through].

So I guess what I should be thanking you for is this: Thank You for writing. Thank You for linking me to others who are of like and different minds, those who recognize their ability to shape their internal and external environments, and those who recognize the effects of our external surroundings on our being.

I wish you well, and hope you have a magical year.
