The colors are speaking to me, so I speak back. They ask me to come closer, to observe their shapes and forms. They invite me to touch, to explore, to experience. They tell me to be happy, to be innocent, to be free. As they explode from the ground, drip from the walls, and disappear into infinity, I am excited intrigued enchanted. For now, I am a child.

Haven't read this massive post yet, but in regards to Justin's comments, here's a link from my archives:
Nervous System For Airplanes, Bridges And Other Structures Should Improve Safety

Add biotech to something like that, and "Gaia" is no longer a metaphor. And "civilization" is no longer something separate from nature.

What with this and the incarnation of the logos into the internet, I feel like a kid whose divorced parents are getting back together! ;)

The key to this technique is the CymaScope, a new instrument that reveals detailed structures within sounds, allowing their architecture to be studied pictorially. Using high definition audio recordings of dolphins, the research team, headed by English acoustics engineer, John Stuart Reid, and Florida-based dolphin researcher, Jack Kassewitz, has been able to image, for the first time, the imprint that a dolphin sound makes in water. The resulting “CymaGlyphs,” as they have been named, are reproducible patterns that are expected to form the basis of a lexicon of dolphin language, each pattern representing a dolphin ‘picture word.’

I'm working on a more bacterial angle. Have you seen Existenz, the Cronenberg sci-fi flick? I think that the "pods" in that film -- a VERY remarkably techno-prescient #codechant invokation of iPods before they happened -- anyways, that's the future of tech to my mind. Biotech. Engineered electrical interfaces. I think there's going to be methods of weaving permaculture, cymatic/electromagnetic effects, and geometry to create a living interface. Best of all - a living interface that can do all sorts of tricks Teh Internets are unprepared for, in addition to accessing/remixing/pre-sorting digital data.

Same link via Zac

You see? There’s so much room for variation there. Theoretically we all deal with the same shared cultural content, but the way we contexualise it, the way we place a frame around the stuff to deal with it, what we choose to engage or disengage with, what acts on us, or what we act upon, makes all the difference.

You could be the wand itself and feel like god on earth, or you could be the holy grail of christ on the cross. You could have a pentacle that encloses the whole shimmering infinite void, or you could use your sword to take your sense impressions down to the level of virtual particles blinking in an out of existence in the femtosphere.

The Wand represents the will. Your ability to engage an object of focus and hold it, manifest it, apply your intent and sustain it. It represents dynamic, active force. When you use the wand you are the actor. You are the center of the drama. You make the rules, and everything that you find is yours to play with. The wand allows you to enter a new game and make it your own, or even create a new game altogether.
