Everyone is interested in national security, it's a very profitable interest to have.

It's the same as John McCain promising that he could get Osama IF he got elected -- a transparently bullshit claim of the most cynical kind. If there were any truth to it, you'd be morally obligated to DO IT rather than wait for payment and contracts to be written.

There's a strange space between the professional detachment of "mentalists" who insist it's all just a very persuasive trick, and then the flip side of Aaron Donahues who believe everything the spirits tell them because It's True.

Yeah,I had forgotten his name and the whole rivalry thing. What a soap opera. I'm sure a lot of that stuff is true but I never trusted the whole RV thing.

For suppoesdly patriotic individuals interested in national security they were a pretty self absorbed bunch.

Or, it would so clearly understand itself as an eternal, ensouled, being that it wouldn't take care of it's physical elements and wind up as a class of intelligence/being in the multiverse.

I don't know, I feel like a certain kind of meta-level intelligence, that's all it would be: paranoia and constant existential fear of its own extinction, hell of its own existence!

I don't think AI will have too many of our psychological flaws, or at least it won't care enough about them to try to change them. Megolomania maybe, but not worry over flabby thighs.

My other related thought:

Whether or not we can build AI is no longer a question to me, so much as whether or not we can convince them to buy consumer lifestyle products and services...

So far the best prediction I've read along the lines of technologically based human immortality was bad news for the concept. Is was from a Luciferian remote viewer who said that he saw the downloading of minds/spirits into computers beginning in Japan. He says this became a great tragedy because as soon as the download was complete the peolpe began begging for the robot, or whatever, to be turned off. He never said what was so unbearable or if they could be turned off.

I believe in multiple, changing, timelines so maybe this future has changed. He also thought that life on Earth would be destroyed by various diseases and mold. Being really allergic to mold I can see this happening but maybe my preexisting biases led me to his site.
