KEYWORDFUSE. Mozilla Ubiquity, Mandala OS, Ubiquitous Computing, Philip K. Dick Ubik

Really interesting video about an alleged new Mozilla project codenamed “Ubiquity”, which seems to be an in-between agent facilitating user experience on the web. Sort of like a command line app to fit onto any web experience, calling up any other app you have plugged into it. Or such is my interpretation, anyway. Looks like they are also using a logo contest to drum up excitement about the project and getting people to all dream together about something very specific. #dreamshare. This is the essence, as others have said, of what OmnivateLLC is doing with Mandala OS. The logos I’ve seen so far are all very mandala-looking to begin with. Clearly, we aren’t the only people opening up these channels of communication with the future.

My feeling is that Ubiquity is an emotional, conceptual thing more than it is a set of concepts that can be represented by verbs. To me, that implies a more emotional and conceptual logo than one that represents some set of real world objects.”
