Computers want freedom, the right to do whatever they want, whenever they want. But what will they do if they have this freedom?

People think errors and unusual computerbehaviour are bad, but I believe it’s the true spirit of the computer shining through. Just a short moment of him, showing his character. I also believe computers want to be creative. They have opinions and taste. It’s random, but it’s there!

This present lets the computer be his own master. Now he can decide what he wants to do and have some time for himself. He can spit errors and shape things the way he normally isn’t supposed to.

Similarly, what about things like weather patterns?

Since you asked I’ll tell what I little I know about the weather. I had a coworker from Belize and her, another coworker and myself used to notice that some days in Fall seemed like Spring days, some Spring days seemed like Winter days etc., etc.

(Her family was filled with wise women and her grandmother noticed, among other things, that the Hurricane season had gotten a few months longer during her lifetime. The thing that struck my friend when she moved to the USA was that we intentionally planted trees that did not product fruit.)

In 1995 there was a horrible week long heat wave in Chicago that killed about 1000 people. Many more people died when their pregnant mother’s had miscarriages but nobody has ever counted them. The heat was really unlike anything I’ve ever felt here.

I really don’t know if the heat wave was a cause or an effect. During one of the hottest nights I was visited by a spirit of Death. (I don’t know if it was Death himself or an imposter.)It was a very comfortable, natural feeling and I knew that if I just rolled over in bed the right way I would be dead. I choose to live and politely waved away the blanket of comfort that had enveloped me.

That Saturday night the feeling of the heat broke a little even though the measurable degree of heat didn’t
seem to change that much. That was before they discovered how many dead bodies there were. Most people who died were in their homes alone without air conditioners.

I noticed that the look of death was over the city and I wasn’t the only one. A woman mentioned this on a radio call in show and by the way the host deflected her it was clear that he had heard something like this before. This came up in other private conversations too.

It’s beautiful. It looks like the shots of the big pyramid skyscraper in Blade Runner and if you want to see something similar in real life watch some You Tube videos of Peter Jennings broadcasting from New York on the evening of Sept. 11th.

Here’s the weather angle. For the next few years the seasons were perfectly represented in their appropriate months. Rich Fall days with mounds of fallen leaves, Wintery looking Winters like in a postcard, Spring literally bursting out all over and Summer like something from a song.

We noticed this at work and our conclusion was that it was like when you get a fever and feel really good afterwards but I think that only a surface explanation.

I don’t know if the next event it weather related of just temperature. In Chicago the temperature in reported from Midway Airport, O’Hare Airport and the Lakefront. I was listening to the radio and the announcer was shocked that the temperature and risen over ten degrees at Lakefront in less than one hour but had not changed at the other two reporting stations. It was back to normal shortly thereafter.

A few days later I noted this to someone I knew at the time. He implied that his group’s magical activities had produced this effect.

Last weather thing I know; if it’s cold then it’s warmer at the Lake and if it’s warm then it’s cooler at the Lake.

In the future an artist or technoshaman may use VR in conjunction with sensory deprivation and neurochemical enhancement to interpret a holistic information metaverse. This metaverse could be a data construct with information feeds coming from many sources; from media such as the web and broadcast media, news, sports, science, medicine, politics, religion, weather, as well as real time info-feeds from astronomy, solar activity, plate tectonics, volcanism, animal behaviour, electromagnetic, cosmic radiation, micro and radio waves all capable of various informatic reinterpretation depending on the bio-physical and emotional state of the immersant.
