Hmm, that's some really unfortunate timing... I just released a beta of YARPP 3.0 (&lt;a href="http://www.hurl.ws/k23" rel="nofollow"&gt;3.0 beta 1&lt;/a&gt;) which introduces a new caching feature, markedly increasing performance, particularly for the feeds.

If you get a chance and are willing to try, I'd recommend you try the beta. It's still a beta, but it should definitely help with the database performance.

		<description>I use supercache yes: should speed up your blog as well. It means that not every time someone looks at your blog does the database have to be called. 

Thanks for your hint about the just another related post plugin. I was using that too - and it may be at least part of the reason my blog has been so SLOW (despite using supercache).</description>
