I recently installed that plugin to speed up load times on my site. So far I haven’t seen any problem with it, though I also don’t know to gauge exactly how well its working, either.
One setting I want to optimize but I’m not sure how. You can set a timeframe for “garbage collection” which says:
Checking for and deleting expired files is expensive, but it’s expensive leaving them there too. On a very busy site you should set this to 10 minutes. Experiment with different values and visit this page to see how many expired files remain at different times during the day.
And your options are every 10 minutes, every hour, every six hours and every 24. I had it set at six hours before, and when I just looked there were close to 700 expired files in the cache, so I changed it down to one hour. Anyone else have experience with what’s a good threshold for this plugin? Thanks!

1 hour on your site should be fine. 10min is more for huge amounts of traffic. 6 hours is more for the traffic my site gets (40-50 unique/day).
