A friend sent me this transmission, possibly from a parallel universe. A-quick googling turns up no immediate explanation of the mandalic symbol or its possible origin.

Via a cuil search on same meme, I stumbled upon a website with the URL:
http://newshopper.sulekha.com/photos/slideshow/4647/pageno-9.htm
Featuring the image in larger detail:

At the top of the page is text reading “TEST — This is a Diastar test from AP London Photos. Please ignore. (AP Photo)”
Also while looking for this term on Google image searcg I happened curiously across the keywords “human effects testing” and a very spooky looking graphic 4th result on the 3rd result page. Dig this link, and a screen shot in case this somehow goes away:

Not sure what any of this proves or points to, most likely nothing “special”, but you never know I guess. Would love to find out more info from human searchers on this subject. Comb your specialized webs of knowledge and report back any findings. Thanks!

Looks remarkably like a Laffoley panel.
It sure does. He’s got paintings in Baltimore right now. I should go down and consult the oracle.
You know, I sympathize with those who want to banish The Mysteries from Teh Internets, but I just cured my lover’s laptop by invoking Ganeshe. This is after months of tinkering, two days of seriously trying to cure it, and dozens of software programs and detailed tutorials. Ganeshe + Restart = Cure. I’m trying to be rational, and I’m still a skeptic to the core, but the Universe makes it hard.
Terrible mispelling of “Disaster”?
Also of note:
diastar.com
diastar.org
and diastar.net
All leading to (mostly) empty web directories with the same/similar structure.
More interestingnes:

“Diastar test” search led to that site and this bizarre image of what seems to be remote viewing testing relating to the foreseeing of 9/11:

And the WTF finale:
Taken from the CIA and DIA STAR GATE Files
This reminds me of this media glitch:

We need people outside of the US to do creative searches around this keyword/image cluster as an experiment to see if they can find sources we cannot.
I checked on google image ripper and the first five results are all AP stashes, and all tests.

Now, what 0fGLfmLd3ZgDC05BD7sm61Pf490a1Katq4FU1GM mean?
None of these are any closer to providing a narrative context to put this into…
Maybe it’s just something that teh AP uses as filler for an image that is yet to be included? I work for a printing company, and the first thing this brought to mind was the color and grey scale bars we use when proofing.
Maybe it’s a test for checking the color/brightness/contrast levels of a pre-press display, or for testing the accuracy of an ICC profile across different monitor/printer/press color spaces?
Not nearly as fun, I know, but at least it’s a context to work with.
That sounds more likely than anything!
Still damn cool looking though.
Much better than the kind we use…
