Can they really provide me with “Access to Akashic records, morpogenic fields and past-life memories, connection with spirit guides, energy cleansing,” like certain websites claim? I’m also curious about the role of crystals in radio technology. Anybody reading this have meaningful experience with either? Can we build a little home crystal FM radio which will connect us to Akashic news broadcasts?

A crystal radio is a way of receiving an AM signal… separates the low-frequency audio from the high-frequency ‘carrier’.
In my experience, ‘using’ crystals is akin to performing a ritual. It gives your brain something to occupy it attention while your spirit can do what it needs to do (unencumbered by ego, second guessing the experience, etc.)
Some people claim connecting to the akashic through crystals, though I have not experienced that myself.
One of the products I did at work recently was a “crystal powers healing” kit. It’s pretty new-agey, but it might be a good basic intro, plus it comes with crystals as well as instructions on how to care for them.
The basic idea is that the molecular form of the crystal resonates energy in a certain wait, which you can tap into and use subconsciously. Certain crystals forms are good for certain kinds of energy. Oh, and after you use them, you have to either bury them or wash them in salt water. Something like that anyway, I’m quoting from memory here…

I’d think that plants would make better consciousness resonators than crystal - plants are sensitive and adaptive, crystals are hardwired and inflexible. That said, “piezoelectric” is an awesome and important word no matter where it shows up. I for one welcome our crystalinks overlords.
I like the idea of being able to communicate with any system of intelligence, whether it be plant or animal, mineral or molecule…
