Made by me, Tim Boucher, on the day of the inauguration of American President Barack Obama as an advertisement for the synaesthetic numenous operating system that we’re collaboratively imagining into existence:
Video made using The vOICe Learning Edition Synthetic vision software for Microsoft Windows available as a free download from this web page. What it does is that it uses your webcam as an input device and then translates what it sees as audio output which modulates as objects move across its field of vision. The program allowed me to output the a/v bundle as about 11 second or so black and white video snapshots, which I tried to liven up with some character theatrics. Upon uploading them to YouTube, they got weirdly messed up, somehow split down the middle and reconfigured and changed the color. Not sure why, but I assume it’s a technical glitch on YouTube’s part. For historical documentation, I’ve uploaded the original AVI files outputted by vOICe to a public liberated drop.io outpost
We’ve also been using the liberated gmail account “themandalaOS@gmail.com” as a hub for communication. Have been saving nets of reference points and user account meshworks. Anyone can login and interact with the data they find their using the password “omnivate”
