Have been extremely busy the past few days and only have a couple minutes to catch my breath here before the weekend gets underway. Finally finished up and sent off my application for the alternative journalism fellowship program at Northwestern University in Chicago. Thanks very much to everyone who helped me prep for that with advice, examples and letters of recommendation. With any luck, I’ll be out in Chicago at the end of June as part of that program. But I don’t find out until the 20th of March or thereabouts - which really isn’t too long to wait. Have also been kicking the crap out of the Monument City with my friend. I have a bunch of experiences and historical bits of information that I’m going to be coming back through and re-working into more polished pieces. May try selling them to a couple local papers while I’m at it. We’ve now documented in multiple media and formats over forty of Baltimore’s eighty-nine officially listed monuments. We’ve actually found a couple that weren’t listed too, and the project just keeps getting better and more interesting as we flesh it out. Have also talked to a few local artists who expressed an interest in collaborating with us on down the road. So that should be really fun too. Hoping to have another Time Travel Club meeting within the next few days, though not sure when. Will have to check the email list to see if anything has developed since I looked last. Still waiting to hear, also, about potential stage or carpentry work at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC in the springtime. Ideally, I will get that gig and the Chicago one and just spend the next few months kicking ass in ten different, yet mutually supportive, directions. Wish me luck! More as time permits. Thanks also to everyone who helped out with donations through the site this month. Much appreciated!
