With this understanding, we can see the great ability and knowledge that nature spirits possess of their given environment. We also know that they can literally “build into” that environment certain elements or qualities. Therefore, if humans were aware of an element that would be helpful to the environment, and discussed it with the devas — who agreed and chose to “build” it into their environment — then we would be working co-creatively with Nature towards the healing of this Earth.

I used to intentionally follow tech trends for their own sake - just to stay “up to date” with whatever internet industries I’ve been tangentially connected to over the years. But what I’ve found is that kind of information can inundate you; in the computer industry you’re always looking over your back shoulder to make sure you’re not about to be clobbered by a complete stranger who got the drop on technologically. What I’ve found much more worthwhile is to let your creative interests drive your investigations into technological trends. For me, I’ve been heavily involved with a local historic geotagging project which has revived a multi-pronged interest in history, geography, cartography and communications technologies. From there, I’ve been necessarily thrust into learning pretty detailed technical information relating to areas where those ideas cross in practical application. It’s not occult science or anything, but it is pushing into some pretty esoteric concepts relating to the nature of experience, the spirit of place and the biodynamic flow of geospatial environments.
You’ve heard of GPS by now, most likely. GPX was new to me, an XML format designed to capture location information. GPX data can be organized as individual waypoints clustered together or described in sequence. You can, in essence, save maps, tracks, routes, paths - processes even. Rituals, pilgrimages, ordered sequences of perceptual states. But that’s just me dreaming out loud. GPX data doesn’t quite do that - yet. But at some point in the not too distant future, I expect we’ll be able to save pathways through multidimensional information environments. Spaces you can enter into in real time with electrically animated parts. Components intersecting the real world.
Working on and back stage lately has gotten me thinking through blocking and staging in a programmatic movement sense. Translating choreography into full-bodied interface environments. A computing environment your plants and houseplants could even intersect with.
Sorry, I know this isn’t what GPX really is on a technical level. But these are the thoughts that well up when I consider probably next steps in the technological industries I’m most interested in right now. Even applying these concepts to my writing offline with folk music which increasingly references symbolically coded references to real-world locations which I often go by on my bikepaths through different parts of the city. That way the songs become like maps, songlines of the Aborigines (remind me to tell you about my recent visitation), songpaths.
Thinking about what I’ve heard of druidic schools and techniques. Imagining guilds who go out into the streets singing technical work songs for free that the listener can interactively “download” location-specific information from. Roman room technique, memorizing lines for acting, bards & griots, historians & orators.
Forgive me for not being more linear. My thoughts world round about these re-occuring reference points in my mental psychogeography - just like the monuments in my actual landscape. You go around them and by them many times, you start to develop a certain relationship. A magnetism. Whirling points clustered together in spacetime and paths to connect me back to you…

‘Magic mirror’ shows real-time muscle data
If something like this could be mixed in with the GPX stuff… Real time recordings of accurate bodydata from rituals, proof of what works and what doesn’t?
And not just muscle data, but thought patterns too… Record and playback…
Why crystallize everything? Why save all this stuff?
Why does all the living breathing unfolding stuff need to be stored in a server somewhere, like a dead bug in a glass?
It has to do with the relation between time and space. Its a desire to stop time and crystalize it into space.
These primitive people you refer to had no alphabet. None of these hunter gatherers have alphabets.
The Dream time is not in the past. Its an alternative time line they access through ritual.
Crystallizing this rituals and storing them somewhere in space is something else entirely.
This is what I am talking about , Tim:
The second stage is one where we put together what we have plundered
from nature according to our knowledge of natural laws. Now when we
construct a machine or complex of machines out of raw material, we put
certain spiritual beings into the things we construct. The structure we
make is by no means spiritless. We make a habitation for other spiritual
beings, but these beings that we conjure into our machines belong to the
Ahrimanic hierarchy. This means that by living in this technological
milieu of modern times, we create an Ahrimanic setting for everything
that goes on in us in a sleeping state, by night or day. So it is no
wonder that a person at the first stages of initiation, bringing back
into his waking life all that he has experienced outside in the way of
noise and confusion, feels its destructive character. For he is bringing
back into his organism the results of having been in the company of
Ahrimanic spirits. Thus we could say that at the third stage, at the
cultural level, we have technology around us, stuffed full of Ahrimanic
spirits which we have put there. This is what things look like from
inside…
Most technology is imbued with Ahrimanic spirits. To me its really obvious. I can feel these spirits and I feel opressed by them and alienated when I am in an artificial environment.
These artificial environments oppress everyone spiritually its just that not all are conscious of it.
So anyway, you have this quasi shamanistic approach and that can be really good. I just have doubts, Tim. Are you on a path of liberating this technology and imbuing it with friendly spirits?
You are out there too. So please don’t act like I am being weird, when you talk about the same weird shit.
If you are talking about liberating ahrimanic technology and indwelling it with friendly nature spirits its not just some simple thing to pull off. Because I have witnessed lots of attempts that don’t work. That’s what the whole “green” thing is about.
No, I’m trying to destroy the world. What the F do you think? Goddammit
If I could summarize what I’m doing plainly, I would say something like I’m using imagination to poetically explore future technologies - but only for the purpose of making people aware that future technologies are totally irrelevant. What I’m really describing is the here and now in a fanciful way to make you think twice about what your options are. I may be talking a lot about gathering GPS data, but you have to bear in mind that I smashed my cell phone with a rock years ago and have never looked back.
The only way forward is a mixed strategy, I believe, that incorporates the essential human components of legacy and spiritual technologies, so that future technologies and automation don’t overwhelm the human spirit.
But when I say I want to be able to store and transmit paths of motion, I’m not describing some new thing. I’m describing teaching, and communication. Wrapping it up in new names and faces shouldn’t be cause for alarm. Nothing of the true human spirit and base experience ever ever changes. That’s why I’ve banished all fear in regards to this area of exploration. Why sit around on the internet and twiddle my thumbs over something some guy I have no personal connection with decades ago wrote when I could go out actively into the world, experiment and make things that are concrete, real, creative, interesting and liberating? There’s no contest there between the two modes of being.
Well. I’ve been hoping for something like this. Not to imply that it’s in any way owed to us as readers or anything, but it is helpful.
Thanks.
