One of those commercials that was a favorite from my youth:
Got my waltzing on today for real for the first time. Been reflecting on it ever since: waltzing is like the dharma. Duty, law, the way things go. It’s a set form that basically unarguable. Such and such is a waltz. Such and such isn’t. Each dance is called for within a certain set of parameters. Match those basic parameters, you can succeed wildly in any direction you take actual daily repetitive physical effort towards perfecting.
Spending an hour a day dancing with other people will make you 100x smarter than reading every article on Wikipedia because it will make your life richer, and other types of anxieties and compulsive behaviors diminish. The binding nature of ritual behaviors.
I’ve been trying to come up with a Mandala OS logo for a while now. Something centered around the compass rose, I was thinking before. Then came to the Wheel of the Dharma, then saw in miniature a logo so simple that it could be created anywhere. Two concentric circles: from the outer edge of the inner circle radiate eight symmetrical bi-directional arrows. Atomic building blocks in the #greatchainofbeing. Astral dogs howling in the moonlight.
