I guess a major part of what I started to doing online at some point - as an artist - is just making these sorts of constellations of associated imagery, information and personal trails through them. Almost like fixed informational spaces, through which runs a loosely connecting narrative - usepaths, best routes from here to there. I see myself, I see other people, getting caught up in certain types of thoughtforms, patterns of obsession that seem to recur on their own. Somehow trying to clothe archetypes maybe, with visible forms, the flotsam and jetsam lying strewn about on the internet. I had that dream once about meeting the Devil and talking to him and that’s how he looked: his form was always changing, the faces he picked up and put down again at will. Sorry, that’s an unrelated tangent. Although, maybe not totally. Just another example of this sort of intuitive clustering I’m trying to do. But I don’t just do it with the written word, I’m doing it with my entire datawake, things like domain names, user accounts, tags and metadata, sequenceing, structures of URLs, networks of sites and off-shoot projects linking to one another and to value points, worthwhile producing nodes in my grid, information sources and allies. And I take a light hand to it all as far as ownership is concerned. What do you really own out of a project you built with thousands of other people? The documentation of thought-forms and their experiential effects on humans as you pass through them. I’m trying to viscerally predict a multi-dimensional ambient information space where identity and authorship is statistical, collective, fractally channeled and open-ended. Like I’m thinking some day you’d be able to physically walk around omnivative informational states and spaces which are based off information bits and reference points projected off my datawake.
