The Imperius Curse & Illuminati Mind Control

It seems that our talk of using one’s own mind to control another person’s body and actions is part and parcel of the “unforgiveable curses” in Harry Potter. Their use of the concept is under the name of the Imperio or the Imperius Curse:

Causes the victim of the curse to obey the spoken/unspoken commands of the caster. The experience of being controlled by this curse is described as a complete, wonderful release from any sense of responsibility or worry over one’s actions, at the price of one’s free will. Resisting the effect of the curse is possible, however, and several individuals have been able to successfully overcome it, including Harry and both of the Crouches, who learn to resist the curse after being subjected to its effects for an extended period. Harry describes the feeling of being the caster as controlling a marionette through a wand (although Harry’s particular experience is suspect due to his lack of commitment to casting Unforgivable Curses).

I guess we know now why the woman in that video is smiling, eh?

“It was the most wonderful feeling. Harry felt a floating sensation as every thought and worry in his head was wiped gently away, leaving nothing but a vague, untraceable happiness. He stood there feeling immensely relaxed, only dimly aware of everyone watching him.”

Apparently Harry uses the imperius curse “on a goblin and a suspicious Death Eater during their disguised attack upon Gringotts Bank” – whatever that means. I’ve never read the books. But you can find much more detailed (and dorky) information about the Imperius Curse here.

harry used it against goblins (the bank managers and owners) and death eaters (aka bad guys) in the 7th and last book while trying to obtain a horcrux (part of Voldemort’s, aka the bad guy’s, preserved soul/power) from a deep, mysterious vault in the bank in order to defeat him!

Don’t want to be overly optimistic here, but maybe your previous post would be the solution to this one? That is, if Harry’d had access to some Neurosky technology, maybe the imperious spell wouldn’t have effected him so badly?

I wonder if strengthening your mind->tech skills would have an equal effect on your mind->body skills? In either case, you’re exercising your conscious awareness and control.

Of course, you’d have to pay attention to the underlying mechanics of what exactly you were doing, intent-wise, otherwise it’d just build some kind of weird muscle memory through the technology.

Think of it this way. If you drive your car rather mindlessly, then switch to a new car, your muscle memory is such that you will reach for the seatbelt where it was in the old car, rather than where it is in the new car.

But if you are consciously aware of the underlying mechanics (“I am reaching to grab the seatbelt from its present location”) you’d just need to repeat that action again in the new car to get the same results.

Which I guess is similar to what you said about being a master of your own nervous system before trying to control any electronic interfaces with your mind.

I wonder if you could completely forget how to control your body if you spent too much time using an electronic interface, kind of bleed out into the electronics, so to speak? The ultimate couch potato?

So many people don’t seem to fully inhabit their bodies anyway.

Yeah! Seriously, what the fuck did he care? He wasn’t at the wheel of this god-forsaken ship! He gets to just ride off into space on unicorns after all this is over…

Yeah,My impression of him is that he is not a person with a lot of depth to him, just an bureaucrat. But he had a sense about him of being a “made man”

None of these people are really all that powerful in an of themselves. They are just totally given over to these demonic powers that represent a certian polarity that is neccesary for creating the dynamic tension needed for reality as we experience it to unfold.
