About

Hi, I’m Tim Boucher and this is my website. Welcome. I’m 30 years old and was born on January 5, 1980 in Worcester, MA. I work professionally in technical theatre as a stage manager, technician (carpentry, electrics, & event staging), as well as a designer, writer and amateur historian.

I grew up on Long Island, but escaped catching the accent. Graduated highschool and moved to Baltimore to study painting. Got into computers instead, moved around a lot (Brooklyn, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Northern California), started a website and the rest – as they say – is history.

Currently pursuing a course of independent study on the folk history of the theatre, vaudeville, circus and traveling performers and performance traditions the world over. I am also a chess coach, gardener, amateur radio enthusiast and friend to animals.

This website has been running since 1998, but I’ve been blogging continuously since 2003 on a huge variety of subjects related to pop & fringe culture, media, folklore and the esoteric. I make a part-time income on this and other domains from ad revenue and the kind supporter of readers the world over.

As of September 2010, I will be available for freelance technical work anywhere in the world, have a valid passport, a good head on my shoulders and a full bag of tricks. Check out my resume and contact me if you have a job lead, professional contacts or something worthwhile to say!

Thanks for your time,
Tim Boucher
