Some of the below audio appears in various forms from time to time within the Hollow Earth mix as well. Give a listen!

OLD “POP OCCULTURE” PODCAST EPISODES (Seattle-era)

**UPDATE** something happened, and the links in the pages below no longer point to the podcasts. Totally my fault, but you should be able to find what you’re looking for in the podcast directory; everything’s labeled.

  1. Invisible Friends: An introduction to the life and work of Tim Boucher, author of Pop Occulture.
  2. Ah, To Be A Caveman Again…: Asks the question: “what is real?” And comes up with the answer: everything!
  3. Beyond Belief, Pt. 1 - The Ecology of Religion: First of a multi-part look at belief and religion from an ecological perspective
  4. Calling: A more personal podcast on the subject of feeling called spiritually…
  5. Beyond Belief, Pt 2 - The Power of Questions: A look at the power of questions to dissolve unnecessary beliefs and engage in personal spiritual development.
  6. Self-Destructing Ideology - A closer look at the personal costs and struggles associated with a spiritual path of radical questioning
  7. That Looks So Fake! - When did movies and tv become more real than real life? I want my damned life back from the jaws of pop culture!
  8. Media Eugenics - A look at how the media selects for and against certain types of people based on body type and mental type.
  9. There’s A Snake Inside Us! - An account of my efforts at fasting for a few days, and becoming more conscious of both the food and media which I consume.
  10. Express Yourself - What if self-expression isn’t actually a fundamental human freedom, but actually a diversion away from our true natures?
  11. All-Encompassing Compassion - The “self” is not a unitary entity but a complex network of overlapping ecologies. Start treating it like that!
  12. Inner Light - In which I explode the notion that there’s no such thing as good and evil, that we can’t ever really “know” anything in a final sense and that reality is somehow dependent on our beliefs.
  13. Mysteries of the Bible - What if the Bible wasn’t just the story of a man, even the story of a remarkable man, or even the son of God? What if encoded within it was an ancient blueprint on how to ascend to union with the Godhead and transcend ordinary reality?
  14. How to Fake Your Own Death - A weaving together of many cultural and spiritual threads related to the possibility that each one of us has a “double” or magical twin, with an exploration of what to do with this possibility.
  15. Breaking the Monopoly of Identity - Our identities are used to control us, but in actual reality, they are not fixed and they may not even exist at all.
  16. And I’ll Form The Head - An esoteric exploration of severed heads and how the concept of the head relates to our ideas about identity and the self.
  17. Understanding Synchronicity - A look at the phenomena of “meaningful coincidences” and just what they mean, if anything!
  18. Crossing Over - The Cliff’s Notes version of Grandma Death’s Philosophy of Time Travel. Give you everything you need to start jumping across timelines except a flux capacitor.
  19. Start A Show & Tell Club - In which I talk about how recapturing our essential connection to pure un-self-conscious child-like experience of life and one another.
  20. Make of me an instrument - When you listen to music, are you actually listening to the music, or are you listening to your perception of the music?
  21. Cloud of Words - Each of us walks around in a fog of language through which we perceive the world. An exploration of that, how to manipulate it and overcome artificial limitations imposed by it.
  22. Grid Density Explosion Immanent - An old-fashioned time-bridge built on the backs of angels.
